The Kamweti route is a less hiked route on Mt. Kenya that approaches the mountain from the South from Kutus settlement.
Mount Kenya is the 2nd highest mountain in Africa and the highest in Kenya, located at the Equator in Central Kenya situated in Mt. Kenya National Park.
Mt. Kenya has 8 different routes that can take you up and down the scenic mountain with distinctive vegetation zones. While on Mt. Kenya, one can expect to encounter / spot wildlife during ascent or descent, giving an adventure of a life time to the climbers / hikers.

Main features of Kamweti route
It provides a complete experience to travelers through the different mountain vegetation zones. That is, the rain forest (1 day), the bamboo forest (2 days), through the golden moorland (2 days) and lastly the alpine desert zone.
Accommodation on Kamweti route includes Old Kamweti camp, Sagana river camp and Mackinder’s camp (base camp).
