When is the best time to climb Mount Kenya?
The recommended time to climb Mt. Kenya is during the dry season, that is in the months of June through to October and late December through to March. The land and soils are drier during the dry season, lower chances of rainfall and the skies are clearer offering clear views of the different landscapes on the mountain.
During the wet season, that is March to May when long and heavy rains are on the mountain, the trails can get so muddy and slippery especially in the forests. These sudden rains can also lead to change in itinerary if the selected route becomes impassable. There are also short rains of November.
In order to enjoy your adventure on Mount Kenya, we recommend you hike the mountain during the dry season.
