Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi city to Nanyuki town
Pick up from Nairobi city and drive to Nanyuki town at the base of the mountain. Have lunch on arrival at your hotel and later spend the rest of the day at leisure or go out and check out the different attraction within or around the area.
Day 2: Nanyuki town to Sirimon gate to Old Moses camp
Early morning, drive to Sirimon gate, meet your climb support crew and start your trek up Mt. Kenya through the beautiful lush forest and in about 3-4 hours, you will be at the Old Moses camp for dinner and overnight with views of the Batian nand Nelion peaks.
Day 3: Old Moses camp to Shipton’s camp
Very early rise as today is longer trek day of about 6-8 hours. You will cross the valleys of Mackinder’s and Liki enjoying stunning views of Sendeo peak, Tereri peak and Nanyuki town from above. Reach Shipton’s camp at the base of the summit peaks for an overnight.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day – Shipton’s camp
A day to help your body adapt to the high altitude and maximize your experience on Mount Kenya during your climb to the summit. Continue on the trail to areas surrounding the camp, to the Kami hut, descent to hausberg valley, check out the hausber and oblong tarns with some resting time, ascend to Arthur’s seat enjoy the views and later descend back to Shipton’s camp for the night.
Day 5: Shipton’s camp to Lenana point to Met Station camp
You will be woken up by 2:00 am to have some snacks and a cup of hot tea as you prepare to reach the summit by sunrise. Headlamps on and trekking poles at hand, take your final ascent to summit Mt. Kenya at Lenana point, the 3rd highest peak on the mountain. Will at the top, with clear skies, you can see as far as Mt. Kilimanjaro. After some good time at the summit, descend to Mackinder’s camp for breakfast. An hour’s rest after which you continue to Met station camp for your last night on Mount Kenya.
Day 6: Met Station to Nairobi City
After breakfast, continue your descent to Naro Moru gate. Here you will say your goodbyes and appreciate your mountain support crew before driving off to Nairobi. End of your adventure.
